with books and reading? The Galion Public Library summer reading program!
Our 2006 Summer Reading program kicks off starting June 1
st
for all ages.
Reading Voyage: Treasure Your Library
The Adult Summer Reading program sails from June
1
st through July 28
th. The concept is
simple: for every book you read, your name goes into a
drawing. We draw for prizes each Friday, and at the end we
put all the names back in for the big Grand Prize Drawing.
What better way to motivate yourself to read through the
summer?
Children's Summer Reading
Paws, Claws, Scales, and Tales!
Join our summer reading program and
paws
to read! Pick up your reading log at
the library, check out books to read at home, and write the titles in the log. Collect
a prize for every five books you read! We're also planning a bunch of great children's
programs for the summer, so keep your eyes on the
Children's News.
Retro Summer
We're going back in time to the 60s, 70s, and 80s!
Teens in grades 7 - 12 can read to win in our Teen Summer Reading
Program. For every book read, teens can enter weekly drawings for
$10.00 gift certificates to local shops and restaurants. At the end
of Summer, the Grand Prize Drawing winner can win a $50.00 gift
Certificate to Barnes and Noble.

we go back in time with our Summer Reading Retro
events: In June, Travel back to the days of Lava Lamps
and Tie Dye T-shirts at our 60's and 70's Fads craft
night. Brush up on your knowledge of the 80's and 90's
for our Radical
Trivia Tournament and Costume Contest
in July. Dress up as your favorite 80s or 90s celebrity
and you could win a prize! Each month we'll also have a
game/chess night. Bring a friend and your favorite board
game and chill out
at the library! Most programs
require registration prior to the event, so call the
library for more information.
