Galion Public LibraryGalion Public Library was founded in 1901. Since that time our collection has grown to nearly 80,000 items. In 1991, the library received a new look adding space for the growing collection. Lynn Dominick is the Library's Director, and Fred Smith is the President of the Board.


The Library's hours are as follows:
    Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where is the Library?

The Library is located on North Market Street just north of the Square, behind the gazebo.

How do I get a Library Card?

Citizens of North Central Ohio ages five and older may obtain a card with proof of address.

What are the library's loan policies?

With a card, printed materials, 4 music CD's and 4 videos may be checked out at one time. Starting January 7, 2002 video limits will increase. Click here for details.

Loan periods are two weeks for printed and audio materials with a fine of 5¢ per day.

Videos circulate for three days, with a $1.00 a day late fee. Videos may only be renewed one time.

Other items may be renewed in person or over the phone.

How can I become more involved in the library?

Joining the Friends of the Library is the perfect way. Membership fees are just $5 per year. The friends hold seasonal bake sales and bazaars, as well as managing the library's running book sale. The funds raised by the Friends are used to better the services provided by GPL. Call today for more information.
