Books, Books, and more Books! We have an abundance of books for the sale.

Adult Fiction, Paperbacks, Cookbooks, Inspirational, Social Science, Science and Math, Quilting and Crafts, Gardening, Diet and Exercise, Poetry, Writing Resumes/Stories, Biographies, Art, History, Coffee Table Books, Technology, Woodworking, CD’s, DVD’s Puzzles, and Audio Books. Each sale we have different sections that increase in size. This sale, Children’s books are going to be overflowing. The Christmas, Young Adult, Poetry, and Vinyl Record Albums sections are all much larger than normal. Again this sale we will have a table with older ephemera paper items such as vintage magazines, newspapers, postcards, old books, sheet music, plus other interesting vintage items. Come join us and stock up for Winter!

All ages are invited to create their own button designs. Completed designs will be turned into inch-and-a-half buttons using our button maker. All supplies will be provided. Participants may make up to three buttons each. Maker space will be hosted in the Children's Room, but all ages are welcome to make buttons. Registration is not required: you can just show up. Celebrate Teen Read Week with us! From Monday, October 9th through Saturday, October 14th, any teen in grades 6-12 who checks out at least one book (print or audio) can enter a drawing to win a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card! Please ask for your entry at checkout. If your parent checks out the book on their card, you may still enter the drawing if you are present at checkout. Only one entry per teen. The winner will be announced and contacted the following week.

Watch a 2017 movie about cars on your big screen. Fri, Nov 10^th at 3pm.

Join us for our annual Christmas open house. There will be music (OH70 Jazz Ensemble from 1-3, GHS Showtunes at 1:50); sleigh and wagon rides; punch, cookies, and a hot chocolate bar; door prizes; the Friends' Twelve Days of Christmas raffle; crafts and cardmaking for kids; and special story times at 1:30 and 2:30. This is one of our biggest events of the year: you don't want to miss it. Sat, Dec 2^nd, 1-3pm.

Entries will be accepted beginning November 20^th. Entries will be judged on overall appearance, originality, and design. Houses may be constructed of any edible ingredient. There will be three entrant categories: 9 and under; 10 and up; and groups. Judging and voting will take place from November 28^th through December 2^nd. Prizes will be awarded in each entrant category and for Best of Show.

The library will close at 5pm the day before the holiday. Wed, Nov 22^nd at 5pm.

You and your stuffed animal friend are invited to the library for pajama party fun. Afterward, your stuffed friend can stay and spend the night. We'll have teddy-bear-themed stories, crafts, and activities. All participants will get pictures of their stuffed friends having fun at the library after hours. Stuffed animals will need to be picked up on Saturday between 9 and 5. For grades K-2. Registration is required: sign up now.

The Friends would like to issue a big Thank You to Galion and the surrounding area for your support and donations, which made our Fall Book Sale a tremendous success.
